Beading pattern requests

by Allegra ⌂ @, Toronto, Canada, Tuesday, April 07, 2009, 20:50

Hi everyone, it seems like many of you are seeking patterns in random forum threads. So we thought we would make this thread for you guys to just use to post requests for patterns you'd like and then some other people can reply if they know of any patterns like that on the internet.

If you have scans or some other offline file, you can email it to me at allegra@friendshipbeading.net (or click on the envelope sign beside my name) and I'll post them to a link on the server and they can be downloaded from there.

If the pictures are small enough, you can upload them directly through the forum by clicking on the "image" button in the posting page.

Thanks and enjoy! This thread has been pinned to the top of the forum so don't worry about losing your requests!

Hi Jen, thanks for the lobster pattern link. He is too cute! This is really good because we all get to have exposure to these great patterns we couldn't have found on our own or didn't know existed.

For the pattern scans we are posting here, it's better if you upload them directly to our 3dbeading server (through filezilla) and then post the direct link, just like Laura did.

Can everyone else please email to us to scans you want posted and we can upload them and post the direct links here.

Thanks everyone and happy sharing!

I just remembered Bidiboum posting on this forum a long time ago in an old thread called Beading Patterns a picture of a pattern she invented (the object on the right). It looks like it could be modified with a fatter stalk to look more mushroom-like. I find the two-coloured red and white beads she used are very reminiscent of mushrooms. I'll contact her to ask how she made it. Hopefully we can get her to reply here and help you out. Just one idea. I'd love to see pictures of the other patterns you were looking at.

Hi Vanessa! Sorry I didn't realize you had trouble figuring out how to post your pictures. Basically, when you are on the posting form page (as you would be typing a reply to a post), there is a button above this text box called "image". Click on that button and a box will pop up guiding you how to upload and post an image. After you click upload, that box will disappear and some coding will appear in this text box. That coding codes for the image to appear, so don't delete it! Just press the "enter" key to continue typing on the following line. Good luck!

I just found this site and it is awesome. I've been looking at all of the posts and noticed many post patterns that are in other languages. If you Google babelfish you will find a bunch of sties that will allow you to copy and paste blocks of text or web site addresses and it will translate the for you. I cant promise it will be totally accurate, some words dont trnaslate that well, but it gives enough to get the gist of things.

Over a year ago I was searching for Mushroom Patterns and came across the 3D Beading Forum. I posted a request and Jen posted a pattern for me. I eventually tried to make the mushrooms I was looking for but I kept having a problem with the underneath of the mushroom, I eventually gave up and have a plastic container with lots of half finished mushrooms.

So I kept on my search on the internet and eventually found a very nice Italian Lady in Italy, just over 2 weeks ago, who had the book I was looking for and she was willing to exchange books with me. I now have my Mushroom Book.

Dawn, I promised I would posts pictures of the mushrooms and as soon as I have made a few different ones, I will post them.

Thankyou very much. I have already started on a new bigger Dragon, the way it is going, I think it is going to be double the size, compared to the one I posted here. It is being made for my husband as he also loved the Dragon and was upset when I sent it to my sister. It will still take me a few months to complete it, as I am busy with a number of other beading projects at the moment, but I will post a picture of it at the Forum, when it is completed

Hi Everyone.

Thankyou for the kind words about my Dragon I made. She took a number of months to make and almost a
kilogram of seed beads.I have done many beading projects without patterns, but it is very time consuming,as
I start off at a focal point and then just bead. The problem is all these projects always turn out huge and I have
to buy the beads by the kilogram to make sure I always have enough to finish the project. It is nice if you have
a pattern then the project goes fast and you can adapt the pattern also to make similar projects. The Dragon
was made with a number of different beading techniques.I also have to take a lot of step by step photographs
to keep as future references as I am making something,so I am accumulating a lot of data disc's.

All your kind remarks are most appreciated.Thankyou very much.

Hi.

If anyone is interested in downloading books on beading,I am posting a link here. This site allows people to download as free users, but premium users get faster down load speeds(these are the people that pay). Also
you have to sometimes wait in line before you can download as premium users go first. There are beading books
in all languages and on many different topics and styles of beading. It is really worth downloading these books.Just
be careful that you are downloading a beading book as some of the things are porn related. If you are not sure
about a title, just ask me and I will let you know,as I have been caught. You can search under headings like bead, beads, beaded, beading etc, there are many books here. There is 2 books as you open the link at bead. 3D BEAD CRAFT and another called BEAD BUTTON EDITORS-BEAD CRITTERS.The second book has the Humming
bird pattern in that I saw someone was looking for.

The site is called RAPIDSHARE FILEHOSTING.

Hi Kasey.

When you search for something at Rapidshare and find what you want. You click on download and a page will open with two speed dials. You then click at the bottom of the dial that says free user, not the premium one. Then another page will open and you wait while the seconds count day and until a block with a big blue ball appears and you click on that. Then your download should start with no problems.

Let me know if you do not come right.

Hi.
I am hoping that someone out there actually has the pattern for making cattails (bulrushes)The first picture is the one that I down loaded, the second one is my attempts at trying to make them.I have tried a number of ways how to make them, even by putting different materials under the beads and wrapping them around it,but I found that nothing works properly so far.I am busy now making them like a motor bikes shock absorbers with the suspension spring around it.Please if someone nows how to make these or has a pattern,I will be most grateful and it will really be appreciated.

Hi Vanessa
Just in case you haven't worked out a way of your own to make the bullrushes. Although I haven't a pattern I would guess the beads are either back stitched to the base, couched or square stitched, all very time consuming. Diane Fitzgerald uses tee shirt material to wrap around a stem, secures it with wrapping thread around it and then does tubular peyote. I would use wadding (batting) secured with a finger bandage and then I'd do fast tubular peyote on top, a lot faster. Please let us know if you find a solution.

Margo's site also has spider patterns you can follow to make these scorpions. I will look for the site links and post them.

The first link has lots of pony beading patterns and instructions and 4 spiders which you can use to make the scorpions, they are very easy to follow. The second link has the scorpions and many other beaded creatures using this same method, this is just a wonderful site to go to and look at what can be made using this method and the different types of beads put together to make all the creatures, I think the dragons are very well done.

Hi.
Here is the Humming Bird pattern, if you want to down load the book go to the rapidlibrary link here at beading pattern requests and just scroll down the first page where it opens and if is not there, then at the bottom of the page just click on 2 and carry on like this until you find the book and just follow the instructions as the pages open on the site to down load it.I hope this helps.

Your beading is fantastic for a 13 year old, I wish a lot more young ladies would do things like this.

Thanks! I'll try to download it! Oh, and Gloria, I hope you could find the tecnique. It's quite easy, and you can do it with any amount o beeds you'd like! :-) You just need to go crosing the wire. (don't do it with sting unless you want to do it 3D)

And you put more or less beeds to make the tail, and the belly! To make the legs you can do the same like in this rabbit, only with other beeds:

Hope this helps!!! (I'm not so good explaining-I did my best!!! :-P )

Hi Dawn.

You can download as a free user but the people that pay get quicker download speeds and you may have to wait in line to to download but you do not have to pay. Just follow the instructions as the pages open it is actually very quick and simple to download and they will even tell you how many minutes you have to wait before trying to download if the same IP ADDRESS is being used. I hope this helps.

Hi Ling-Ling and Cheri,

If you go here at 3D BEADING FORUM and go to ANIMAIS PADROES and click on the PICASAWEB LINK that was given so kindly there,it will open up and there are a lot of books on dogs and there are a lot of dogs in the other books also given there, just click on each book and it will open and then you can see if any of the dogs you are looking for are there. I do not know anything about small dogs and would not know one from the other as I only have big dogs myself. My son just brought me back from the airport and I was amazed to see how big my 2 new Husky puppies have grown.I hope you find what you are looking for here.

Would it be possible for you to e-mail me the dragon patterns too? I would be happy to trade a pattern in exchange.

Thanks for considering:)

The Chinese dragon there that you made is perfect! I dont see a pattern but I am only able to pull it up on my phone right now (work blocks it) so I will have a better look when I get home. Thank you :)

by Vanessa @, Tuesday, June 15, 2010, 09:02 @ Tammy

Hi Tammy.

I have a lot of Foreign and English instructions for doing this type of 3D Beading. I will go through them and then post instructions, that will be easiest to follow here at the Forum for everyone who is interested in learning how to do them.

Just give me a few days.

Hi,
Thanks very much for emailing the patterns and thankyou for being so quick. :-)
At the moment I'm making a mobile for my grand-daughter, but when that is finished I will try to make the dragon and post a picture of the finished result.

I am looking for a pony bead pattern for the breast cancer ribbon. I have looked all over the net for a pattern and no luck. All I found were patterns that looked way to hard for me or they were for plastic canvis patterns. If any one could help that would be great. I have to make at least 25 to 30 of them by tomorrow evening.

Hi, I've never beaded before and I was wondering if anyone knows a cute but easy starter pattern. Also, I'd like to know people's favorite patterns and the best places to buy the beads. Thanks! :-)

Allegra, I LOVE you and your friends' work, you patterns are awesome!!! I know your busy, but I was wondering if you could try to put out some of the other patterns; my personal favorites are Dumbo and Lady and the Tramp. Thanks sooo much. :-D
