Welcome to the 3-D beaded Teddy Bear pattern instructions! If you have any difficulty following this tutorial, please post a comment at the bottom of the page on which you are stuck, and we'll do our best to help!

Step 6:This step will give our bear a snout! The eyes are shown here for placement. Notice the 6 beads with black borders, which are the same snout beads from the previous diagram. They form a circle of 6 beads with each other, as shown previously, so the snout is actually sticking out of the page, but it's hard to show in 2D, so we had to space the beads out.
Add beads 32-34 to your blue thread.
Cross through bead 34 with your red thread then add bead 35 and 36.
Pass your blue thread through 21, cross through 36 then add 37 and 38.
Pass your red thread through 23, cross through 38 and add 39 and 40.
Pass your blue thread through 25 and 27, cross through 40, add 41, pass through 33 and 35, the add our nose bead, 42.
Pass your red thread through 29, 32, 41, 39, 37, 42 and 41.

Step 7:First we need to turn our bear. You should be looking down from above at the top of the bear's head, but kind of see through the head to the neck. The head itself is omitted from this diagram because we are starting from the neck and working our way down his body. The two parts of the diagram marked "side" are the bear's shoulders, "back" is his back, and "front" is his chest. Now it doesn't matter which way you turn your bear back/front wise for now, because his torso is identical on the front and back side, so don't worry too much about that for now. But if you want to match the diagram exactly, his nose would be away from you and the back of his head would be towards you (again, looking down at him from above from the perspective of this diagram).
You have two options on how to start. You can tie off your threads in your last step and thread new thread through bead 73, or you can weave both threads down to bead 73.
We are also going to start over with #1 for the first bead added in the body, but keep in mind that the beads circled in red are the same neck beads (with the same bead numbers) as in diagram 3 on page 1! So go back and check where they are if you're not sure. Before we start, just notice that the neck beads are a circle of 6 beads (already in your pattern), while all other beads are new. The two shoulders have 6 beads each, and the chest and back are made up of 2 bead circles each, with 5 beads each. Okay, let's get started.
With your red thread, pass through beads 74, 42, 40, 71 and 72. These are the 5 beads circled in red from step 3.
Add beads 1-4 to your red therad.
Pass your blue thread through bead 72, cross through bead four and add beads 5-8.
Pass your red thread through bead 71, cross through bead 8 and add beads 9-11.
Pass your blue thread through bead 40, cross through 11, add 12-14.
Pass your red thread through bead 42, cross bead 14 and add 15-18.
Pass your blue thread through bead 74, cross bead 18 and add beads 19 and 20.

Step 8:The way we are continuing our beading pattern here is very similar to the back of the head, in that we are working outwards from the neck in rows of bead circles to complete the body. Note that the general direction of beading is outwards and downwards, down the bear's torso. Although our diagrams are 2D, as you bead, you should notice your bear adopting a 3D shape. Now in this row of bead circles, notice that every circle consists of 6 beads except the two on either side of the bear's body, under his shoulders. These two bead circles contain only 5 beads each. Okay here goes.
Add beads 21-24 to your red thread.
Pass your blue thread through bead 2, cross 24 then add 25-27.
Pass your red thread through beads 3 and 5, cross bead 27 and add 28-30.
Pass your blue thread through bead 6, cross 30, then add 31-33.
Pass your red thread through beads 7 and 9, cross 33 and add 34-36.
Pass your blue thread through beads 10 and 12, cross 36 and add 37-39.
Pass your red thread through beads 13 and 15, cross bead 39 and add 40-42.
Pass your blue thread through bead 16, cross 42 and add 43 and 44.
Pass your red thread through beads 17, 19, 21 and cross 44.

Step 9:Same story here, we are working outwards with bead circles. Notice that every bead circle in this row of beads contains 6 beads each, all around.
Add beads 45-48 to your red thread.
Pass your blue thread through bead 22, cross 48 then add 49-51.
Pass your red thread through beads 23 and 25, cross 51 and add 52-54.
Pass your blue thread through 26 and 28, cross 54 then add 55-57.
Pass your red thread through beads 29 and 31, cross bead 57 and add beads 58-60.
Pass your blue thead throubh beads 32 and 34, cross bead 60 and add 61-63.
Pass your red thread through beads 35 and 37, cross 63 and add 64-66.
Pass your blue thread through beads 38 and 40, cross 66 and add 67 and 68.
Pass your red thread through beads 41, 43 and 45 then cross bead 68.
One tiny note, you should be about 3/4 down your bear's torso now, towards his abdomen. At this point, we are going to turn him around so you can make his abdomen and pelvic region and tail. So take good notice of the beads all around the border of this diagram that are bordered in black circles. These are the only beads that will be in common with the following diagram in step 10. Same thing as with the face. Those beads will bear the same bead numbers as in this diagram, while all other beads in the diagram will be new.

Step 10:In this step we need to rotate our bear, so that looking up at him from below him, rather than looking down on him from above him, as we were in the previous diagram. Do not flip the bear upside down. His snout should remain facing upwards and his back downwards. Note that due to our rotation, the thread now starts at the left side of the diagram rather than on the right where we ended on the last step, even though it is the same exact bead where we ended off (bead 68).
Again, remember that you are passing through the beads with the black borders, and all the rest of the beads are new in this step.
Pass your blue thred through bead 46, add 69-71.
Cross your red thread through bead 71 and add 72-74.
Pass your blue thread through beads 67 and 65, cross bead 74 and add beads 75-76.
Pass your red thread through beads 64 and 62, cross bead 76 and add 77-79.
Pass your blue thread through beads 61 and 59 then cross bead 79 and add 80 and 81.
Pass your red thread through 58 and 56, cross bead 81 and add beads 82-84.
Pass your blue thread through beads 55 and 53, cross bead 84 and add beads 85 and 86.
Pass your red thread through beads 52 and 50, cross 86 and add 87 and 88.
Pass your blue thread through beads 49, 47, 69 and cross through bead 88.
Now don't worry about the tail in this diagram. I only put it there to show you which side is up and which side is down. We are attaching it in the next step.
