Welcome to the 3-D beaded Teddy Bear pattern instructions! If you have any difficulty following this tutorial, please post a comment at the bottom of the page on which you are stuck, and we'll do our best to help!

Step 11:Now in this diagram, we are facing the exact same orientation as the previous diagram, but we have faded out the beads that are not used in this step. In this step, we are simply closing up the very posterior region of the bear and the tail. You are going to form 4 final bead circles to close up the pelvis, then you're going to string back around all the beads to get down to the tail and attach it. Two of your bead circles contain 5 beads each, and the other two contain 6 beads each.
Add beads 89 and 90 to your blue thread.
Pass your red thread through beads 70 and 72., cross bead 90 and add beads 91 and 92.
Pass your blue thread through beads 73, 75 and 77, cross bead 92 then add bead 93.
Pass your red thread through beads, 78, 80 and 82, cross 93, 91, 89, pass through 87, 85, 83, 82, 80 and 78, then add bead 94 and pass through bead 61.
Pass your blue thread through beads 83, 85, 87, 88, 70, 72, 73, 75, 77, cross through 94 then pass through bead 59.

Step 12:YAY, we are done the head and trunk of the bear! All that's left is the appendages (arms, legs, and bow tie). The following three steps will show you how to attach the arms to the bear. The diagram you see in this step is the same diagram from step 7 on page 2, except that it is rotated on its side. There's no particular reason for doing this, except that we'll be adding the arm off this diagram in the next step, and we have more vertical space than horizontal space to be showing you this on this page. Recall that the beads circled in red form the bear's neck, so remember that even though it's not shown here, our bear's head is coming off of those 5 beads, and that we are looking down at the bear's neck from above, and his two shoulders are on the sides of the diagram marked "side". Now the beads circled in blue (the shoulders) are forming the base for the bear's two arms. The arms will be built off of these two bead circles. The bead numbers are coloured in orange so that you will be able to distinguish them from the white bead numbers on the bear's arm beads. Note that we are only going to show you one arm, but the other arm would be identical, on the other shoulder.

Step 13:We want to start with our thread coming out of bead 5, so weave your existing threads back up from the tail so they match this diagram or you can tie off and start with new thread here.
We are also starting over at #1 for the new beads we are adding to make the arm. The existing beads are shown with orange numbers. The beads circled in black are going to be reused in the following step, don't worry about them here, but remember where they are.
Thread 1 bead on your blue thread.
Thread beads 2-4 on your red thread then pass through the existing bead 7.
Cross your blue thread through bead 3 then add 5-8.
Cross your red thread through bead 5 and 8.
Pass your blue thread through bead 2, add beads 9 and 10.
Cross your red thread through bead 10, then add 11-13.
Cross your blue thread through bead 13.
Pass your red thread through bead 7, add 14 and 15.
Cross your blue thread through bead 15 and add 16-19.
Cross your red thread through bead 19.
Pass your blue thread through bead 12 then add 20 and 21.
Cross your red thread through bead 21, add bead 22, pass through bead 18 with the blue thread, and cross through bead 22. Pass through bead 17 with the red string then add bead 23.
Cross your blue string through bead 23. Notice that the last two bead circles consist of 3 beads each, while beads 15 to 19 form a bead circle of 5 beads, and all the rest are circles of 4 beads. This has been the top side of the bear's arm. We are now going to flip the bear over and do the underside of the arm.

Step 14:For this step, we need to flip our bear over to work on the underside of his arm. Keep in mind he will still be facing the same direction side to side, only flipping in the up and down direction, so that his arm is still sticking the same way. Pay attention to the "back" and "front" to orient you. The only new beads in this step are beads 24 and 25. All other beads were from the previous diagram, so only pass through them, don't add new beads. Also notice that all three bead circles consist of 4 beads each, even though the beads are drawn looking different simply because of their positions from the last diagram, which were kept the same.
Pass your blue thread through bead 16 and then add bead 24.
Pass your red thread through bead 20, pass your blue thread through bead 16, cross bead 24, pass through bead 14 and then add bead 25.
Pass your blue thread through bead 11, cross 25, then pass through bead 6 added in last step and bead 6 from our bear's body.
Pass your red thread through bead 9, then our body bead 6.
Now you will weave your threads through to the other side of our bear and repeat on the other side using the base body beads 14 through 18 and you will start with your thread coming out bead 15 like we did on this side with bead 5.

Step 15:This diagram is not new. It is reproduced from step 10 on page 2. It is the view of your bear's pelvic region from below him, looking up. No new beads are added in this diagram. This is just to show you that the beads circled in green are going to form the base bead circles upon which the bear's legs will be added. The diagrams that follow will show you how to bead your bear's legs. Notice that the base beads for the legs are both bead circles of 5 beads each, towards the side of the bear's tummy. In other words, they are sticking out from the front side of the teddy bear.
