Step 51

Step 51:Here we are face to face with the very underside (bottom view) of the beaded cat pattern. The reason is we have to secure everything together down here before we can start adding cat paws. You can see that the beads are not connected to each other under the cat. This is very bad in any scenario when beads are not connected to each other in any pattern (at least for animals), so we are now going to connect them! There is no actual step in this picture. I'm just showing you the "before" shot.

Step 52

Step 52:This picture looks complicated but it's really quite simple. To start off, let me clarify that the only new bead added to the pattern in this step is the orange bead marked by a black dot, which is located in the very centre of the picture (between the numbers 4 and 5 in the picture). That being said, the arrows and numbers are to guide you through where to string you fishing line end. Now, for this step, use only one end of the fishing line. Don't even touch the other end. This is another example of the self-cross beading technique I was telling you about, where you just loop around the same bead using the same end of the fishing line. The numbers guide you for which order to string in since it's a loop (basically they tell you where to start and where to end up). So, taking either end of the fishing line (I used the end depicted by the black arrow, but either end if fine), string through the orange bead marked by the blue dot (#1), then the unmarked orange bead (#2), then the unmarked pink bead (#3), then add a new bead, namely the orange bead marked by a black dot (#4). Finally, go back through the orange bead marked by a red dot, which was where you started (and in the same direction) (#5). Note that if you used the other end of the fishing line to do this, you should proceed in the opposite direction to complete your self-cross circle of beads (ie. add the new orange bead first, then string through the pink, orange, orange, orange beads that are existing in the pattern).

Step 53

Step 53:This step is very simple. We are getting ready to make one cat paw! So just take the end of the fishing line depicted by the black arrow and string it through the orange bead marked by a blue dot (since it was coming out of the orange bead marked by a red dot after the last step). Then, to the same end of the fishing line, add 3 new orange beads. Don't touch the other end of the fishing line in this step (ie. the red arrow). Follow the picture if in doubt about what this step should look like (and compare to the previous picture as always). These 3 new orange beads make up the cat's paw!

Step 54

Step 54:In this picture, we are finally making the cat's front paw! So, we make the cat paws in the exact same manner as we made the cat's ears all those steps ago. I hope you still remember! If not, here's a refresher. Basically, it's done with only one end of the fishing line, not both. All you do is loop around, and basically do a self-cross on the bead that is holding the paw (in this case, the orange bead marked by a blue dot). Specifically, take the end of the fishing line depicted by the black arrow, with the three new orange beads already strung on it, and follow the direction of the large black arrow to loop back around and go back through the orange bead marked by a blue dot, in the same direction as before. Only now, there is a paw attached! Again, don't touch the other end of the fishing line (ie. the red arrow) in this step.

Step 55

Step 55:In this picture, we are moving onto the cat's other front paw (which I decided to make pink!). Now, with the same end of the fishing line as the previous step (ie. black arrow), string it through the orange bead marked with a green dot. Again, we are using the same end of the fishing line here and not touching the other end. We are soon going to do another self-cross to do this paw. So, after stringing through the orange bead marked by a green dot, add 3 new pink beads onto the end of the fishing line.
